Car Accident - Please help...

1

Hi. Just been in an accident. Not hit anyone, just hit a curb after loosing control of the car and the back left tyre has come off with discs and calipers - and front tyre suspension seems to have broken. Got the AA to tow it to my mates house.

I've phoned Highway insurance who I got through Adrian Flux and they are picking the car up to take it to a holding area and I have to wait until Tuesday to sort it all out.

Problem - not declared exhaust and car does seem to be a write off as there is a kink in the middle of the roof above the door.

What do you think my chance are of getting it sorted. I'm fully comp and have declared my springs and brakes but obviously not the exhaust. And yes I know NOW I should have... What are your thoughts? As I'm shi**ing it and hoping they'll pay out

How long have you had the car? One option is play dumb and say it was on the car when you got it and you thought it was standard. I doubt they will void the insurance, maybe make you pay the extra for having a SS exhaust

You won't need to be lucky, they won't care. It'll be fine, they could only kick up a fuss if it was part of the crash and they obviously won't pay out extra money for it. Just don't mention it, to anyone, and they won't care. Ask a mod via PM to delete this thread ASAP. The chances of someone reading it or finding out via it are tiny, but it's a chance that doesn't need to be taken seen as there is nothing to gain asking on here. No one can give you a 100% certain answer (but if I'm wrong I'll eat my own face ;)) and you'll get a lot of people telling you you're boned just to scare you.

HTH :)

You should of had it towed after you crashed it at your own expense to ur house as long as you did not damage any public property your are not Bus Stop. It is ONLY our duity to inform the police that you have crashed in the area (which can be done via telephone) and altleast of given you a chance to get the car home and exhaust off. I have seen some pretty wavey roof and some are repairable. Basicly if you havent been honnest with the insurance company in the first place do not rely on them to pay for your own acidents.
Good luck tho mate they may just ask you to pay an extra premium (i.e u pay a higher excess). again don't worry too much.

Highway have a bad rep, I would cross all fingers and toes.

Glad to here Cs is full or positive comments.

Good luck mate, just let us know what happens. ;)

And just plead that you never knew it was an aftermarket exhaust and it same with car etc etc :)

i wouldnt worry about it, i seriously doubt they will care, and if they do they will more than likely just charge you a little bit more to cover the premium you would have paid with the exhaust declared

and as said play dumb!

  Better than yours. C*nt.
It's on a 182, so they're unlikely to notice - they only tend to notice when there's bling bling exhausts on a 1.2 that isn't supposed to have them.
