Car alarm keeps going off - any advice?

  Renault Clio 182
Hi

I recently replaced the passenger side door on my Clio 182 following a prang. It was fine at first, but now the alarm keeps going off whenever the car is locked - needless to say this is annoying for both myself, neighbours and colleagues.

Can anyone advise what it could be and how to fix it? I really want to avoid going to Renault as they will undoubtedly charge me and arm and a leg.

I've checked all the connections and plug-ins on the passenger door, which seem to be fine.

RTFM ;)

How many beeps is it doing after it goes off ?

That'll tell you what it thinks is being opened / set off.

Once you know that, you can look to resolve the issue.

Alarm sensors inside are dodgy I reckon. To stop the alarm being set Open the passenger door, Lock it with the interior button and then lock the passenger door with the key

mine does this on a hot day - its the interior sensors. turn ignition to on twice and lock quickly. this disables the sensors.

Is it though ??!

Why would you want to do that EVERY time you lock the car when it might actually be a dodgy bonnet / boot / door sensor ?!

*facepalm*
