Needle most probably in the wrong place. Go out for a run, find somewhere where you can take it up to the limiter. See where the needle actually stops when the limiter kicks in and you'll be able to tell if it's on wrong :)

right, Just to inform you the Needle was placed at 0K Revs, checked with my sisters clio and everything lined up the same,

take it out to the limiter is abit dodgey aint it, remeber its only a 1.2 lol :)

Do it young lad.... it won't blow up. Even if you just sit there and tap it off the limiter.

Why does engine size matter, just go find somewhere, pull off in first and see where the needle ends up.

And that'll be your problem, when the engine is off the needle doesn't sit on 0 iirc.

the rev needle should be place on the clocks when the car is ticking over ie 800 0r 1000 rpm where ever you want it. it shouldnt be done when the clocks are not plugged in as they drop down too far past 0 this is your problem.. the clocks needles kind of drop down to a preset position when you turn the car off... take them back out remove the plastic panel and pull the needle off start it up and put it on at 10 when its ticking over, make sure the cars warm first as if its cold the fast idle will be on so it might be around 1200 its ticking over at
