hi, ive just fitted spax 60mm springs all round and the ride is a little harsh. wanna upgrade the shocks within the next month (probs just the front, will do the rear the following month) which uprated shocks will help restore the ride quality to how it was origionally? cheers, russ

I don't think it is a good idea upgrading the dampers one axle at a time!

Can't say i rate Spax, and they only have dampers for their -35mm kit. You might want to get hold of some Apex dampers as they have a -60mm kit.

Personally i would just save up for a bit and get some FK Coilovers.

go for the adjustable konis if your feeling flush, otherwise koni specials/apex will do fine.

i did consider coilovers but just cant justify that expense on a 1.2, will look into the apex springs. take it they will be ok with the spax springs?

Well, they won't be matched being different makes but then the Spax dampers are designed for springs with more travel...so its your call really.

You could say there is no point modifying a 1.2 at all mate

ive got a -60mm apex kit as you know mate and the ride is very harsh so i cant see changing the dampers making *that* much of a difference. would it not make it even harsher?

if the ride were not to be harsh this would mean there would need to be as much suspension travel as before. If this were the case your wheels would end up in your engine bay somewhere . think about it, you lower the ride height that lowers the amount of travel on the suspension.

lol i did expect it to be harsh, was just wondering if theres anyway of making it even slightly less harsh...i need new dampers regardless anyway with a 60mm drop as the current shocks will be fucked within no time
