car wont start.. immobiliser i think?

the battery in my key fob is very low, not sure if this has anything to do with it but sometimes when i go to start the car the red light on the dash flashed and the car wont start, and some times it turns over for about a second or two then stops.. if i leave it for a bit then it starts fine again.. i think its something to do with the immobiliser maybe? Any ideas?

Sounds like an earthing issue - check all the main body earths are intact and in tip-top condition.
