Carbone Lorraine pads??

  Weeman sucks ****
How many have fitted Carbone Lorraine's to there 172 sport? I fitted some yesterday but have a query.

First, there was loads of space for the pad in the carrier so had to put spacers back in that come with OE pads. And second, there's no springs on the top of the pad backing plate.

Have searched the net and in here for some pics but all I can find are the diagrams on their site, showing no springs. I'm guessing they're OK, they do fit and work but just wanted make sure.

If anyone has any comments that would be great.

Oh did 10 mild applicatins up the road and they're already squeeling LOL. But I like that:D

Anyone?

The pads have moved away from the centre of the disc due to no springs on the pads. You can see it in the pics. I know they won't go any further, just curious as to why they are like this?

As discussed Chris...very odd.

If it helps any here's a pic of some Pagid Blues with spring clips attached...

Maybe the ones you have are actually a different pattern that just happens to fit in (very badly though)?

Good to chat Mark.

Yeah quite odd. My Renault mate fitted them and was happy to let me drive off so they can't be an issue. And he's very thorough!!

We searched the websites and only found digrams of them without springs so I'm guessing they come like this. They won;t go and further, just means they'll wear over the edge of the disc a little bit rather than leaving a lip as normal.

They'll get their test in 2 weeks anyway as I'm off to the ring ;)

Carbone Lorraine's don't have the spings fitted

Ah thanks for the info mate. There must be a method to the madness.

tbh I love the squeel of brakes, guess that's just the kid in me wanting a race car for the road. They'll come off when I'm back from the ring and the DS2500 setup will go back on. Will just keep them for track use.

mine were exactly the same when i fitted mine. i think the springs are there to stop the vibrating when driving. if you go over some uneven roads you'll feel them rattle through the steering wheel. all ok though and awesome pads. keeping mine just for track days as neighbours weren't happy with being woken up early hours of the morning when i was off to work.

No the CL pads do not come with the spring but it will not cause any problems at all. We now also supply then with a backing pad to prevent squeal.

David.
