cars in france

  Renault Clio 1.2
Went on holiday with my family, just got back yesterday. We got the ferry from plymouth to roscoff and drove around 500miles to just outside biarritz. A really nice drive, alot of motorway, but the other 'B' roads are amazing.
Anyway, what shocked me the most was the f**king crazy drivers. They storm right up your arse and go over the white line by the central reservation in order to get past you at any cost. They under take, weave in and out.
Then during one section, we were overtaking someone, as we got level with the car next to us, a motor bike went through the middle of both of us, got in front of us, dropped a few gears and pulled a f**ing wheelie for about 100yards, doing well over 80, but what was worse, he was wearin flip flops.

Anyway, what surprised me also was the amount of renault cars, i know they are made in france but f**k me there are tonnes. Saw a loads of clios, but on one 172 in the whole week which was disappointing. Plenty of those twingos too, lol.

Anyway, i come back to this weather, how s**t.

Its my birthday tomorrow. wooooo.

And i got BBCC in my A-levels and got into uni. Heading to Kingston in Surrey this september. I'll be at a few meets.

cheers ollie

Sounds like you had fun! When ever i've been in France mostly in Paris you do see lots of French built cars but I think this is a good thing that they support there own so to speak.

As for the Cliosports I noticed the same have not seen a single 172/182 in my time there though I did spot two V6's and you see some lovely looking R5 turbo's in there original condition.

The driving in certain countrys on the continent is quite wild even in the centre of Paris at rush hour you see some crazy stuff even by the police themselves. The difference is though they get away with a lot more but if you cause harm to anybody they throw the book at you.

I just love how people move straight back into the slower lanes 'immediately' after overtaking, and how they keep their indicator on if they are staying in the fast lane for a while.

Sounds like you had a great time!

I love visiting foreign countries and seeing all the different things including the cars.
I saw plenty of the older french models like the early renault 4's and Citreon 2cv's I also spotted a R5 Turbo II. I remember seeing twingos for the first time in france and thinking they were ace, quirky little cars. It's true though the French do drive like there clothes are on fire!

  197-I love!!!
I've just come back from Corsica and saw quite a few new Twingo's-Could look good if they bring out a "Fast' version.
