Castle Combe Rallyday 2009, Saturday September 19th.

Evening all,

Anyone making there way to combe this weekend for the Rallyday? Should be a good one with a wide range of old and new rally cars taking part.

The Strictly Sideways event should be pretty good fun with noise metres measuring the crowds response to decide the winner of the most entertaining and sideways. We should stand a good chance in this with the Aston's, just got to fight over who's driving tho! Haha.

Come and say hello if you do make you're way there, we are right next to the main stage as can be seen in this paddock plan (Number 106).

Never been to Rallyday might be a good laugh! Who is 'we'?

Umm well 'we' would be me, my Dad or Mark Higgins. Think Mark might win the fight tho, seeing as hes 3 times british rally champion. Plus my dad would be worried about me crashing it trying to 'drift' in the sideways competition.

I'm going, not looking forward to the crowds though, and my favourite (relatively quiet) shooting spot now has a dirty great fence in the way, in fact I'm not actually looking forward to it that much!

Yup, fenced now apparently.

Understandable as it's a bit scary there, but as it's always just me there I didn't mind!

I guess a certain car flying through the air not long ago didn't help with Health and Safety

Olly went grinding the armco just after the Folly fence. The 'Rise fence is a fair way up from where he went off.

The fence doesn't go all the way down so you should be ok. It's on the left hand side of this pic:

Maybe comes down as far as the 'Avon rise' sign but I was taking some pics from there last time (as you can see lol).

planning on going with family and friends. not been for a couple of years, but it's been a good show on past occasions. not looking forward to the parking!
