cat on or cat off

several weeks ago i purchased a k-tec ultra exhaust for my 182 only to still be having problems with the f**king thing blowing.

we found the majority of the problem to be the guys that fitted said exhaust doing a s**t job of it and leaving loads of holes and using no exhaust paste around the joins... the other problem is the cat.

both ends of the cat seem to have begun degrading to the point of splitting around the flange, which means new cat is required.

so i have a choice... decat... or k-tec sports cat, what do you guys think whats best for my poorly clio, im sick to death of the f**king whistle of a blowing exhaust!!!?

I have the same exhaust and have just put a de-cat on it. My cat was doing the same thing, not fitting properly! I have no centre silencer so it is VERY loud. But it makes it sound much better. Definatly get a decat, you will notice a performance increase and sports cats are expensive. If you dont want more noise then go for a silenced decat from k-tec. Hope this helps.

cheers mate, am probably going to go for the decat! exhaust is very good and feels better so cant wait till i get the bloody thing working properly!

Frees up alot of power and you'll notice torque increase.

Id get one but without a centre section it'll be stupid loud

I noticed a difference, not massive but improvements nonetheless. I have no centre section and yes it is stupidly loud!
