Cat sounds like it's misfiring

The car feel's awful to drive an has now sounds like the car has turned into a diesel sound realy loud and the gas emmisins lie came on the other day flashed for a while turned the engine of then went away has'nt cum bk on since. Phone renault to get some advice they said that it may be my cylinder that have gone therfore not sending the amount of power through the engine or something.


Someone please advise me wheather i sould get the AA out to check this problem out because I don't want to be driving it then it to blow up or something.

If it is the cat, it may be breaking up inside, which then blocks the bore after the cat, therefore not letting the gases out, therefore less power. Eventually it will get worse, but can damage the backbox in the process. Get down and tap it on the outside, the more hollow it is the more it has already gone! Hope this helps.

Just had the AA out to check over an he said that when the exhaust was fitted they had used the correct bolt's an had come lose either side of the cat, he sai the cat is fine as shown on his diognostics machine an I put that Q about being holow he said that fine to.

So he explained that I need to take it BK to Yozzasport which is where I got the exhaust fitted an have them check over fully.
