changing my manifolds over this week, now ive read the guide about droping the subframe etc which isnt a problem but after having a look it looks as if it would be possible to do it from the engine by after the inlet manifold was removed? or am i hoping for a bit to much!? lol

:S You jest Martin! lol! No chance! it's a dropped subframe job...

You got link pipe? Mind the 182 mani on the 172 doesn't give the difference between the two cars. You'll get about 3-4bhp...

aye k-tec decat pipe, new manifold to cat fitting too.

doesnt matter looks like its lying under the car on axel stands in the pissing rain, its all good

aye be quite happy with 3 or 4 bhp man, that + my k-tec exhaust and RS tuner map should give me a touch over 180bhp or there about (kepping in mind its a healthy 173bhp engine as standard ;))

never expect miracles with these cars lol, wouldnt be doing it if i was paying for fitting (i beleive k-tec charge around £250 odd quid? and around £600 for the manifold and link pipe!)

i got my manifold much much cheaper than that ;)

So what you going to do come MOT time? Will your insurance cover a de-cat as 99% dont!

I guess if you got the 182 mani cheap then its worth it but its alot of hassle for little gain.

it is certainly worth for doing, look at the torque and power curves, how smooth they are.

^^Something not right about that curve!!! I should dip!!! No way it can be that flat imo!!!

Canny find my very last RR graph but here's one before the headwork.

it is damn serious, we are not talking about the same cars, same mods and etc. What's the point expecting the same curves. My car is fully custom remapped and running on cams, matched and polished inlet mani and plenum plus 4-2-1 exh mani and etc. This curve is a direct output from the RSTuner. There is no chance to tweak it and etc.

Have you got any rolling road printouts? Even though the above mods would smooth it out I don't think it would be quite that smooth

Not RR'd after cam installation but PA'd (Performance Analyser) it tons of times and it gives very consistent results. I am sure there is some other user's that can tell you the same. And also if I did get RR'd then this time somebody would blame the dyno anyway :)
