Changing gear, revs, slow response and odd biting point. - 1.5dci

  Italian 3.2 V6
Regards to a mk3 86 dciWould a remap improve responsiveness to the revs when changing gear? If not how is this altered? Biting point and revs seem odd. Can this be changed? Also another annoying thing is the gear box is dead clonky n clunky.. Is there anything which you can get to improve gear change?Cheers, Piers.

Have you changed the oil in the gearbox how old is the car/how many miles?

The gearbox in the 86 isn't much fun though

A remap could help but possible important to check how good your car is in the first place make sure it running ok

It's almost touching 40k and it an 07 plate. Not had it long so never checked the gearbox oil, will be due it's major service very shortly though - would there be anything they could do at the garage to improve things?

Maybe worth trying some new gearbox oil but the gearbox isnt great maybe try another see if yours is any worse or better.
