Changing rear springs mk1 172

  Audi TT 225
Just had my MOT and she failed on a cracked rear spring and rear pads.

So I got some 40mm Apex springs on the way but my garage said I could save myself some bucks and do the back ones myself since you dont need spring compressors.
Is this an easy job? Do you just need to undo the shock absorber bolts and lower the rear axle, swap the springs and do it back up?

yep bang on! and you dont need spring compressors for the fronts either, i did mine with the zip gun, it'll go bang a little bit, but face it against a wall or something and your reasonably safe.
