Changing Stereo In A Clio 182

You'll have to get an adaptor if you want to use the satellite, but I'm not sure if you can keep the display.

Its not face off mind! Would probably get nicked within 6 months at the most, i'd never get a non-face off headunit other than the standard one.

I did it in my 182 - Sony USB Head unit, and an adaptor for the satellite hand control - all in, £180! 20 minutes to fit, and looks the business!

i changed my headunit to a Kenwood one (which i took out of my old Pug) but i was told that there wasn't a lead available for the 182 which allowed me to keep my steering controls?? is this true or does anyone know where i can get the adaptor lead? I notice that Monkey Beast did it with a Sony unit so is it my headunit which isnt compatible?

When I was looking at upgrading my HU, I looked at all the options. From memory, (I'm going back a few months now), there were three manufacturers that I could find that did units that you could buy an interface for; Sony, Kenwood & Alpine. HOWEVER, only certain HU are compatable - it's best to try a specialist company that does car-audio - in my expereince, your local Halfords knows about as much about car audio as your granny does about changing your spark plugs! (unless you have a serious class granny!)

I used a company called ww.caraudiosecurity.com, but looking at their website, they no longer stock the adaptor I bought. For the Sony unit, and a 182, the adaptor was called a DRNS001, but I think it might be different for different models. It's worth emailing them and asking though.

cheers mate. i'll see waht i can find out.

i really miss my steering controls. i might even consider upgrading my HU to one which is compatible. I've had mine for a few years now but it's in immaculate condition so i reckon selling it for a few quid would be easy enough.
