Now i have to get my dusty wallet out and buy another.what do i get??? i work for Renault so i can get a bit off a standerd exhaust/ non gen even cheaper... but should i get a k-tec steath??? is it loud as thats not my thing, dont want any superfandango tail pipes.The only other thing is a long life, superfastdan has one but it's loud as f**k.
Help!!!! does anyone on here have anything they wanna sell me??????
 
Mine looked just like that....then i got really mad and ripped it off!!!!

Got a call ten min after i showed you it..."jon...ummm im up chiphouse rd, the exhaust's fell off"
 
pmsl!!! i went over a speedbump... bang followed by the sound of the zaust scraping down the road!!
 
What do u think i should get to replace it??? need something asap...latest being mon or tues of next week.
 
I got a K-tec stealth on mine when the back box fell off :) thinks its alright, sounds really good when you give it some
 
Mine fell off about 70miles away from home, a solid motorway trip the only way back....

The garage monkey said I should've kept it that way because it sounded 'wicked'.... I said no, shut up.
 
how about we stick the end of the exhaust thats still on your car up your ass, then hang you under the car, with your mouth poking out the back??

Its not too loud. I find it sounds really quite boomy at low revs, but after 3k revs it sounds really good from there on. It deffo gets louder once its warmed up.

nah, only joking, he's the workshop ramp cleaner. Been working here about 5 years. Its all part of the new government incentive of care in the community...

Aye, i told him to fetch me a long weight...he was gone for sometime.

Honestly i reckon we should all draft up complaint letters for the 172 exhausts. They HAVE to be flawed, im willing to bet that it snapped off between the bracket on the centre section and the backbox bracket. Theres a grooved join, over a very short period of time, you get condensation building at this point which internally rusts the sodding thing right through. Mine was fine apart from this point where it failed - flawed design, and shouldn't happen on a car 2 years of age imo.

Oh and the latest debacle, my steering wheel thumb grips have torn and now theres chunks missing out of them where its perished. Booked into dealer on saturday, i'll be fcuked if its wear and tear, and even if that was the case...wear and tear on a steering wheel should not occur on a car 2.5 years old, have never seen a steering wheel degenerate so quickly in my life!

what sort of mile/age do they generally fall off?
 
Lucky to see 3 years without some sort of exhaust problem, judging from everybody on here.

Mine fell off in April 2006, car registered October 2004, they are sh1te!
 
Mine lasted 6 years I think (from new), so had a good innings. I've put another OEM one for now, hopefully it'll break again after I've sold it on.
 
Got if fixed!!!! got a standard renault exhaust thanks to ^^^^^^ all seems good.. gave it some down the ring rd and it stayed on....so far
 
Bloody hells, there seems to be more renault exhausts falling off rather than staying on! lol

Glad you got it sorted! Better check mine, its already on its second exhaust! lol :S

Same things just happened to me! my cups done 58k.

I'm also consindering a stealth, but dont want anything too loud.

Does anyone know how much a standard cat back exhaust costs from renault?
