Child Seats and 1*2's?

  GB 182 FF
So I'm looking for a 182, on the assumption that friends have normal Clios of the same bodyshape and have child seats in the back.....

Now I've read a fair few FS threads/ads where the owner is selling up due to a kid coming and the seat not fitting.

Is this true?!?!?!?!?!?
I plan to put a Maxi Cosi Priory in the back passenger seat.
Its not to be a family car, but its got to be small person friendly to atleast ferry her round if I need the family derv wagon for a long work journey.

I work for Social Services, and over the last 5 years have had every child seat/booster etc around in the front and back of the 172. No probs.

spiffy thanks..... :) phew

Yes I understand that child seats go on the inside of a clio, but its a GENERAL clio question :p
You had best move the 'looks of a 197' thread to the exterior area lol

I dont understand why it wouldnt stu, It has a seat belt and a seat.

I know the fronts have an airbag which you would need to turn off, but the back is prety much identical to any other clio in the seatbelt arrangement. I think most people see a sporty car as being un child friendly :S which is a load of shite tbh lol. Its like oh no were having kids, I'd best get a grown up car quick. Only thing you can do before handing the £££ over is to take lil ambers seat and try it.

Whala... but i really cannot see you having any issues what so ever.

Yeah will fit have one in the back of my 172 sometimes with isofix base..

Although when it's behind the passenger seat the front seat passenger wont have much leg space in all honesty.. but I drive so dont care

I think it's the three door thing with parents. 5 doors is obviously a lot more convienient. Not hear of anything about them not fitting though

we had a 3dr MK4 astra for the first 14 months of Ambers life (and my vx)... NEVER had a problem bar not enough boot space in the astra. So we have a B5.5 Passat estate now and its a shame they dont do a 3Dr version of that lol

just got one for my 172 and the reason why some seats dont fit perfectly is becuase of the shape of the seat and length of seat belt.

The seat i went for in the end for my little boy is the maxi cosi tobi. Really good seat with a recliner for when they are asleep, well worth the £130 we paid for it online usually £180-£200 in shops.
There were a couple of seats that would not fit in my 172 cant remember what they are but most maxi cosi seats fit most cars, turned out my other halfs peugeot 206 is one of the worst cars on the market to get a child seat to fit as the length of the conector in the seat where the belt clips in is too long.

ive ferryd my daughter around for the last 5 years in my 182 child seats no bother. it bugs me when people find out youre girlfriend or wife is pregnant and they say o youll have to sell youre pride and joy and buy summit bigger. its not that easy if you love youre car.

It was really easy when the other half got pregnant... she said I should keep the vx as it does what I need of a car and it would take the baby seats lol
Only changing now as I'm bored :)
