Firstly, yes it is childish, pedantic and rather repetitory, but hell, its fun.
My comments which might of sparked it off. When i say lowering, most of you know me and i dont just mean slamming it, sheesh. I was implying that you could go alot faster by learnign how to drive better, enjoying a track day or simply tweeking the chassis. A chip WILL NOT do what some are explaning it does, people are jsut begining to expect far too much from the humble computer chip. If a couple grease monkeys at a big dirty RR can get you another 20bhp from minor ignition and fueling tweeks, then maybe they should not be running a dirty tiny RR shop eh?
Neil, as far as uprated suspension goes, if 3mm lower (at the front if you didnt know) is due to an increase in castor and this the wheel spingdle location moves UP and the car down. Im off to polish my springs after this!
Cupsize, if YOUR cup can beat the crappy official times by 0.6 secs then why can MY 172 do the same? the gap will still be the same.
I think the people who talk about getting real really should pick up a book and learn what changes do and their results. Ill get a car, completely RUIN the suspension geometry and give it to you to get back to a nice handling car. Im sure some will have trouble even knowing where to start.
