Had a brilliant time in Le Mans :) Met all the guy's from Failsport which have helped me massively the past couple of days!

So the night before I leave for Le Mans I back the car up the driveway and my heart sinks :( In my old RB 182 the gearbox pooped itself after getting a feeling in reverse for a couple of weeks. I could take my foot completely off the clutch and then when applying power in reverse its like the handbrake was on and some horrible noises came from the box. Eventually I heard what sounded like to metal plates being scrapped together, got a bit further up the road and stopped. Try to put it in gear and nothing. Spent about 10 mins before I found 3rd. So the night before I leave for Le Mans the same thing is happening to the PH1 ! Feeling pretty disheartened with it I considered breaking it. Anyway got to Le Mans and put it at the back of my mind.

Started speaking to Cub. and mentioned Mike (Budgie) would be able to help. Grab him and ask about it and said we would be able to sort something out :) So we returned on the Monday and Tuesday I put a thread up asking for a gearbox and Nick posts up he's got one :) So Tuesday night I drop the Clio off at Mikes and by Wednesday 6pm iv got my car back with a new Gearbox and Clutch :) Turns out the clutch release bearing was completely seized. Possible that's the actual problem I had with the 182 ? Anyway the cars back with a silky smooth clutch and all is well. Massive thanks to Nick, Budgie for all the hard work and also thanks to them and also all the other Failsport guy for making Le Mans so special. Cheers guys.

Got a couple of photos from the South Central meet last night.

Been a little bit harder than the guide lets on especially if your doing it on the driveway, but I got there. Waiting for the weekend to do the matched inlets with my mate then bolt the alternator and PMS brackets back on and get cracking with the shifter :)

Got bored with a can of Stella on the go, so decided to do the inlets.

Didn't enjoy prizing the injectors out and was even worse putting them back !

Fitting the PMS AC delete kit was fairly straight forward, would of been easier in a garage with all the tools, thankfully my mates garage is 2 seconds away so popped up there a couple of times for bits and pieces.

Started it up yesterday just to make sure the injectors and the belt was ok, just need to fill it with coolant and she's ready to rock.

Yea should be ok day to day, only ever drive it at the weekends and maybe once or twice during the week !

Just have to finish off the shifter and fill it with coolant and put the bumper back on and she's set :)

Finished the gear linkage yesterday. Fitting the linkage to the pivot/selector was an absolute nightmare. Walked away from it twice! Basically had to hit an 11mm socket in to the linkage and then work my way up to a 12, that was just to mate the two together. Set it up with reverse and saw I had to get pivot about an inch in to the linkage to select reverse. some more whacks of the hammer and a lot more swearing finally got in to place. Cut away some of the heat shield and actually removed some in the end. Ran through all the gears with me and my old man and all was good. Mate came round this morning to fill it back up with coolant and put the bumper back together. Not had time to wash it yet so once the suns gone down it will get a sponge dragged over it.

Just took it up to Goodwood and had a drive through Chichester to see how it faired about town, Its awesome. Its stiff but in a good way, all the gears follow each other and there's no knocking what so ever :) 1st isn't all the way over and up now its a couple of mm out. Im sure il get used to it. The matched inlets have made quite an improvement in the rev range, seems to want to go further now. Having it RR'd at JKM on the 10th of August so will see if the engines back up to power.

Obviously at FCS next Saturday with a 2 hour session booked. Cant wait to see what its like on track now. Only down side is I wont be using the AD08's but the Evo12's. Hopefully they hold up :)

Good to see it's all done. Linkage sounds a right b**ch of a job. Be interested how rollers go with the matched inlets did you get to bottom of the lower run last time, just the air filter?

Looks good mate.

Looking good and look forward to seeing it at FCS.

Cheers guys

Got to jack it back up before FCS, cant actually remember tightening up the linkage :S Also found a slight problem with it..... I keep smashing my hand on it when trying to play with the radio ! Sure il get used to it.

Had a good day at FCS today. Car went well with the new shifter, tyres held up ok, obviously not got the same levels of grip as the AD08's but still fun.

Mounted the GoPro to my helmet for a bit and got this. A bit more exciting than sat on the passenger seat :)

Nice video but wish you'd keep your head still ;)

Not to sure about the PMS shifter though, gear changes didn't seem as good as when we went out at Goodwod.

Was saying to Fletcher, as you were going past us that pipe sounds amazing. Could hear you over some bodied cars!

The car was at JKM's Rolling Road day today, made 172.7 bhp :) With the matched inlets and the centre silencer removed by my reckoning its gained 3-4 bhp over the SRR's first attempt of 169 bhp ! As for the 158 bhp I can only put it down to the car was too hot ? I really honestly don't think JKM fiddle there RR as they no longer produce there own products so would not benefit from 'adjusting' there results.

Really happy with the car at the moment, have got some vibratechnic engine mounts ready for the car and also getting a 'race' battery thanks to .GAZ. :)
