Those look the biz Chris! Vvveeerrrrryyyy nice. Watch those kerbs mate!

Out of curiosity how are these fitted to the hubs, the holes for the bolts look too small! Do they use special sleeve nuts?

Which spring set are you planning to go for? After I eventually get the K-Tec exhaust Im planning to go for the Eibach -30mm Proline as recommended by telford_mike and a strut brace. Have you seen any pictures of the K-Tec alloy brace?

Neil...thanks for the compliments.

Its the missus that needs the warning...kerbed the 2 front originals after only a month!!!

Result with the insurance Co too....no extra premium.

They are fitted with very small headed bolts/locking wheel nuts. Also they are a 40 offset and i know that even lowered there will be no rubbing.

Really want to get the K-tec adjustable ones.....http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=355http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=355 when finances are a bit better. Unless anyone can come up with another good solution. The missus has some very large sleeping policemen in her works carpark and if its lowered on springs she says it will catch, so when track days and the like occur they can be duely adjusted.

I have also been told that by just fitting springs it eventually knackers up the dampers and they will only last for 12months or so.

Thought about getting the brace myself but not sure on drilling holes in my baby!!!

They look big. How good would 18" look tho. Im getting Detroit F1s in 18" but i think they would look awesome.

Your car looks ~ GORGEOUS~ it was well worth getting Geoffs wheels. Your tail pipes look superb too.

Seeing just how lovely your little Clio looks, I bet Geoff wishes he wasnt getting a Beemer estate now, sorry, I meant to say Tourer!

Think yourself lucky Chris, you got the better bargain - the wheels must be better than the sex!

She was a bit frosty didnt you think Geoff ??

you could say it was minus -20c after you went. Ive got used to it though after all the gadjets and stuff Ive come home with. :D

I thought she was ok but there again she probably didnt want to make me feel awkward! How is she today after seeing the results? What does your son think?

Shes coming round now and has said she likes them...but has told me that I cant lower it....not this year, MMmm well see.

Dan thought they looked great. He got a price on his tyres fitted and balanced yesterday after some t**ser slashed all 4 of his 17s...£300. Some people cant stand anyone else having something nice. If only we knew who did it!!!!!

Hey Chris .... wives always come round to these things eventually. I get the same too mate ..." the cars new why do you need a new exhaust? ... yak ...yak..etc..." Ive got her over a barrel now though! I told her that I wasnt letting her and my daughter take the 172 on weekend shopping trips (alloy/door dint alert) so surprised her for Xmas. I eventually traded in my old pride and joy (95 Audi Coupe Quattro S2) for a new Clio 1.6 16V Dynamic with Climate and Zenons just for her (arrives March)...... is that true love or what mate? But now I control the shots regards mods to the 172 .... he he :devilish: ..... yeh OK I know, expensive solution but least I get things my way for a bit!

weight - you should get some coilovers, which obviously incorporate dampers. Its worth saving up for the best you can find. Youre right lowering on springs without changing dampers will knacker them out but if you dont want coilovers (more expensive and not the best ride) spax do pretty good springs and dampers for the money.

I need to do some research into the suspension and which give the best ride quality, fitment and adjustment.

Any thoughts anyone?
