Ciggarette Lighter Help

Can anyone help, im tryin to wire in an ipod adaptor, but need a positive and negative source, and was thinking about joining them into the cigg lighter wires.. but which one is which? there is a blue, brown i think, and a red and yellow?!

take it the brown is live? and blue is earth? or am i totally wrong?

red & yellow is live and the brown/black is earth. That's the way I've got stuff wired upto it anyway lol No idea what the blue is

thanks for the replies, yeah was going to take it from the radio, but its a pain in the arse to take out, so would rather look elsewhere for a source.. plus there is not alot of room behind the head unit in the clio! lol

red&yellow is +ve and brown/black is -ve, the blue is to illuminate the cigarette lighter surround when you switch your sidelights on
