City powder coating in Birmingham | Highly Recommended £80 per set for a Refurb!

Car  RS6 C7
Iv'e had 2 sets of wheels done by these guys now, Amazingly good finish for the price, Prices start at just £80 a set of wheel (with no tyres) They charge £20 to remove the tyres & £20 to refit them. Loads of colours available and they powder coat them which lasts much longer than paint.

Here are some before & after pictures :)

Did they not do the centre caps as well? The wheels look very nice always wondered about their service. How quick was the turn around?

You can't powdercoat centre caps as they will melt with the heat involved, usually they take a couple of days but took about a week this time as they have a backlog after xmas, You got in and you can barely move, There must be 100+ sets of wheels in there.

was thinking of using these but couldn't find much feedback about them so i took mine to the wheel specialist today, but shall now be taking my other set to city powder coating.

**edit**

do they just chuck the powdercoat on them or do thaey repair the kerbing/marks etc first?? seems very cheap

They dip them to remove all paint etc, Then they get shotblasted / sanded etc, Check there website out :)

I do know that laptab is owned by a mate of Fred's, so he can get discounts...don't know how they match up to this place you've tried.

My only worry about powder coating is getting the finish on the plastics the same as the wheels, but I suppose you'd have to try it to see how it fares. :)

Wow thats crazy cheap, but paint was failing on the wheels before refurb, so did they dip or sand blast them then? Cant of been much prep, we could even prep them for that, dipping is expensive. Devils coating powder coat, they must be shifting hundreds of wheels a month to make the margins or not spending long on them.

Great price that. Is that including stripping?

£80 includes everything apart from tyre removal / replacement , I'm suprised they can do them this cheap but i think it must just be the shear volume of work they are doing which allows it, I was only there 10 minutes and there was 4 customers collecting wheels and one guy dropping a set off.

They send them off to get dipped, When i dropped them off a large van turned up and was filled to the roof with ruined wheels. I think they get blasted after this to remove anything else, The full process is on their website :)

It would work out cheaper for me to travel to Brum and get them done. I've not found a decent cheap place round here. Usually £50 a corner

do they offer a gurantee (12months) i have just paid £250 for 5 super leggeras + strip and refit tyres which i thought was a good price

£80 a set....I thought it was £80 per corner...that price is fooking amazing.

Is that for 16" or does the size make it less/more expensive?

Ignore the above size comment...its here http://www.citypowdercoating.co.uk/#!__price

It just advises that it is for a limited time only...and I guarantee it will finish the day before I get there!

For £80 I couldn't give a fcuk if they guarantee them for a day or a year.

Just look at cotballs (is that a real name?) anthracite turinis ffs! They look mint for £80 a set. Thats unreal value for money.

Good job and a the right prices!
On this argument, do you know if any shop is able to paint the wheels in "Hyper Black" or "Dark Hyper black"?
It's the color of the stock GTR wheels and some brands use it, like Rota. I think it looks awesome.

i am really tempted by these only problem is centre caps on the 182 wheel, cotball do you know if they can wet spray them to match the powdercoat?

I don't think they can but you could ask, It's not hard to match the colour though. I'm sure you can find out the exact colour and order some to match.

Seems like a good place to get the race car wheels done.

What was their turn around when you had yours done?
