Cleaning rusty looking bullets?

Are the 182 bullets made from plastic? I thought they were but mine seem to be going rusty with a tint of green lol.

Can they be cleaned or shall I just buy some new ones?

Mine have black spots on them, managed to get them to fade using a bit of wheel cleaner and a lot of scrubbing. There is probably a better product / method to get rid of them completely but I couldn't be arsed lol.

Just color code them, it's what i did when mine went manky...
