Cleaning the upholstery....

I was wondering if anyone had any tips on cleaning the roof/ceiling fabric the previous owner was obviously a grot bag or smoked like a beast but I was looking to clean it. Can it be removed 'EASILY' I mean easily as no need to glue or pull the car apart. to get it out and back in. Anyone used steamers or any other products techniques to achieve a nice clean look?

I've not tried it but if mine was dirty I'd have a go with my Vax carpet cleaner and use the handheld attachment. Maybe squirt any bad bits with APC and use a soft brush like you'd use for cleaning leather first.

I've used AS Brisk and a steamer in the past. It worked quite well.

Thanks yeah I was thinking of going down the steamer route. May use hot water and vax cleaner and steam t thanks

I had a toyota people carrier in for a valet the other week. family of 5, all of them smoked.

I sprayed the head lining with Autoglym interior cleaner and used my wet vac to clean it off.

Head lining is very delicate so don't agitate it with a brush or anything. It doesn't need removing either. It can be done easily in place. Just wear old clothes as I had minging brown cigarette water running down my arms.
