Clifford Alarm and self locking

Picked up my 172 this afternoon and already well pleased with it! Rapid little thing!

One question, it has a Clifford Alarm system on it. If I walk away and don't lock the car it will lock automatically. Is this a Clifford thing or do all 172's do it? Bit irritating if I say leave my keys in the car and it locks :S

Is there anyway of disabling this feature?

hi no the clio dose not lock it self on standard imobiliser sorry I don't know if there is a way to disable it

The standard Clio alarm will re-arm itself and lock the doors if you unlock the vehicle then don't open any doors - incase you accidentally unlocked it. Clifford's version (if it hasn't changed from many years ago) will lock the car after 30-45secs, whether you have opened doors or not, if you do not input the sequence to tell it not to do this. The sequence only stops it from doing it once.

If you can find a Clifford retailer/installer, they should be able to permanantly switch off the auto-arm function of the alarm system. I had to have this done on a previous car as I locked my keys in more than once and it became a PITA.
