Clio 1.2 16V Problem

My Clio is 4 years old and i have done 55,000 miles in it. When i come to a stop and put the clutch down, the electronic warning light comes on and it starts idling eratically. To stop the idling problem I have to rev the engine (which makes the electronic warning light go off) if I don't rev the engine then the car will stall within 10 sec.

Sometimes the car just decides to stop running without any warning, usually when turing into a roundabout, when slowing down with the clutch fully pressed.

What could this be?

Sounds to me like the clutch needs work. Maybe it is not engaging properly thus the engine doe not idle free and effectively stalls.

Just guessing.

Yup as fred says its electrical the issue.

Do a search, theres about 4 threads with similar problem and they all contain issues to look at.

Sounds like the tdc sensors failing IMO.
But as Fred said the list is a decinet list the 1.2 has a few problem areas.
