Clio 1.2 Shell With 172 conversion.

a 1.2 shell 02

i ideally want the fun of putting the 172 engine in.

part from wiring(engine loom & interior loom) engine box & shafts
what else is needed?

will the 1.2 engine mounting postion be fine?
will the engine bay need seem welding up?

Hey,

Ye you will need engine loom and all the interior loom aswell, also the UCH/Decoder ring/key/igniton barrel from the donor car.

In the engine bay yourself, you can use the upper gearbox mount(under battery) as that will fit sport gearbox, but you will need a twisted dogbone mount/front gearbox mount and upper engine mount to get the engine to sit perfectly,

For the running gear you can use all the 1.2 stuff i.e shafts/hubs/steering rack the lot, but do remember you wont have ABS/PAS/Aircon, you will need to make the cup setup on the engine to get rid of those parts, i can get you the part numbers you need if you want just PM me,

Alt belt you will need is 5pk 825 works a treat,

you will also need:

Manifold
172 exhaust
starter motor (may come with the engine, mine did)
extended fuel line (cheap)
and upgraded brakes (can get big brake kit from k-tec but only get discount if you pay membership)

one last thing,

Pay your membership you will get alot of usefull stuff on here fella, its payed for mine as iv done the whole conversion from what i have read and talked with people
