clio 1.4 to 16v conversion

hi every1 im doin a conersion on my 1.4 clio sport, putting a 1.8 16v engine in, just wondering if its best to keep my 1.4 box as beta exseleration, will it hold or blow? cheers

It can take the power as well as a valver box - but they are well known for blowing boxes anyway. Ratios will be different, but can't remember what they are exactly. There will be a gap between the sump and the box if you use the box off the 1.4 but it's nothing to worry about as it works fine and there are plenty valvers about running 1.4 boxes. You can also use the 1.4 shafts incase you didn't know.

Get the 1.8 box IMO its stronger.

wot do you mean a gap? wot will i hav to do ta fix it? i havent got a clue bout it, its just that a friend told me it wud b beta usin 1.4 box

Should be quicker accelerating with the 1.4 box.

i had a 4 speed box in my gt tturbo from my old clio 1.2 went like the clappers!

crap for economy!

its got 5 gears its 1.4 box
