clio 15" alloys

  172 cup
hello everyone well set about putting some 15" alloys et 42 i think with 195 50 tyres on my cup today had some minging 17's that made it handled like a fridge.
the front two wheels werer fine no rubbing not clunking caliper or anything took 10 mins.
the rear two wheels were a nightmare!! put em on obvious they were going to hit sumthing like caliper, so nipped down to halfrauds to buy some spacers bought some 3mm ones and when fiited tested it and it was still clonking the rear brake caliper, so off back down to halfrauds for the 5mm ones, fitted these with alloys and double checked to make sure nothing hit anything and it was ok no banging or clunking.
has anyone else had this pronblem with 15 alloys going on a cup model??????

also snapped wheel nut tightening the bugger back up so one wheel has three in dya think this be ok till i nip to local renaut few days time, need few things doing also on car
appreciate replys thanks. :D

Any motor factors should sell wheel bolts mate no need to go to Renault, better than driving on three! I run 37et on my cup, the std offset of the Turinis are 38.5 so is does look like 42et is the problem

Get some proper hubcentric spacers mate. Those Halfords one's are sh*t. Not the safest either.

what are these matey.

i snapped the nut when tightening and there still thread in the hole how will i get it out also what does et mean

I needed a replacement and only drove 2 miles on mine straight to Renault to get another, although was told it should be OK for limited use on 3 bolts.... I'd avoid Renault like the plague, it was 6 quid or something stupid like that for a single bolt. I got the impression that the guy selling it was embarrassed to charge me that much as well. Get down to the local breakers yard tomorrow for one!!

  Stripped yozza'd cup
ET is the offset of the wheel matey, the lower the number, the further out the wheel will sit...

I have ET37 15's on my cup and they work fine, so some spacers should solve your problem. As said, get some decent ones though.

ah so lower you go the further from the hub you go and mine being quite high would explain why they were catching in the first place too close to brakes an stuff
would i be better of getting some td pro race 2 things brand new or used would i have a problem with fitment if i were to get these in 15's thanks
