Clio 16V - cheap oil cooler or rubbish

Im looking for a small oil cooler and came across these for about £10:

Are they any good?

that isnt a cooler thats a cover,



cooler has a water jacket that goes on first then the oil filter and its either plumbed in to the water bottle, or in to a seperate mini radiator, if u go to a scrap yard u can pick up some off of old cars pretty easy

But the cover would cool down the oil filter, the question is by how much?

not alot, its more to make it look pretty i think u will find, if u go to a breakers most vauxhalls have oil coolers that u can pinch ....

most reno filters are slim anyway so it wouldnt do much

Not a lot, its just a passive heatsink. Which would only supply minimal cooling if it was a good tight fit onto the filter. These are really more for looks than performance, although yes if you can get one dirt cheap it will make a slight difference. Really to properly keep the oil temp stable you need to extend the cooling circuit with an external oil cooler front mounted.

dont waste yer money.............the oil isnt in the filter long enough to make any difference !!!

go & get a proper kit off a s/h car !
