Clio 172 Chippable?

Just got off the phone to a rolling road place in wrexham, told them my car has a piper x ind. kit and a s/s zorst. Asked them if they could remap the ecu and they said not poss, also that the standard air box would give better gains. I have heard this before but assumed that if the fueling was increased with a remap then the extra air and fuel would make a better difference than with a restrictive standard air box.

Any ideas?

It is possible to remap standard ecu, I thought yozzasport managed it?

not asked them, just got off the phone to a place called hill power, they said a group n ecu will cost 275 and i should be able to fit it myself. He also said that a fuel pressure thingy maight do as much as an ecu as well which costs £80. not too sure what to do now

welcome to my world, im still confused and not sure what to go for in my thread.
if you done all the mods already a group N ecu should be fine but not as good as a re-map but cheaper.

how much would it cost to remap my standard ecu? hippower said i would get a gain of between 4 and 8 brake from a group n, how much from a yozza sport remap?

roughly the same - all chips for a 172 will give pretty much the same gains - dont know who you spoke to in wrexham put they were talking rubbish - Hill power are a very reputable company as are Yozzasport - I would happily let either work on my car

it varys from car to car

generally what tim says is correct, on average 4-6bhp is "the norm"
