Question, ive read through that , and all seams fairly basic , but what the tester has failed it on, indicates the back brakes are doing pretty much nothing in the rollers at 18 and 22

Quite curious as the bias valve changes pressure but surely not to the extent that the rear brakes dont work?

they work, but not alot, you could stop 20times from 100mph get out a lick the rear discs with your tounge

Its a brilliant idea for a fast road/track car, it means you don't have to touch them and hence why there is a bulletin out for MOT stations. Its that or you will be going backwards ever time you brake.

Silly question alert ....

Why is it good ? surely you want the back brakes to be doing something ? obviously you dont want to over the power the fronts as it will swap ends but having very little effort seams crazy to me ?

The rear brakes do something, just not a lot. The back of the car is so light and the fronts so heavy. The braking is proportional to the amount of weight on an axle. Pretty much every FWD car you want to wind the bias towards the front when out on track, its brilliant that Renault done it out the box.

Why is it only on 172 cups this happens? Surely the weight over the rear is very similar across every mk2??

The read compensator isnt connected to anything and they seize up and become worse over time.

Just had mine MOT'd and they pulled 50kg's each side i think, which as far as rear brakes go is the square root of f**k all i believe lol.

Just went back to the garage and they where completely unaware of this and as this was issued befpore the garage existed it was new news to them, anyway they contacted VOSA and the confimed that it was OK and told them they can read as low as 10 and still be a pass anything less than 10 is a fail.

On the cup the compensator isn't connect but even if it was it doesn't change the rear brake pressure anyway as we tried adjusting it to get the pressure up originally.
