clio 172 cup or 182 cup

172 Cup everytime, its a Proper cup.

182 cups are well......

Depends what you want from the car, can you cope with out ABS, and all the extras ?

depends on your budget, if ur pushed for cash just go with a mint 172cup.. Not much difference between the two, Cheap as chips n more bang for buck!

PSJ.

ur clio looks nice mate i have a 6 grand budget but can be up but i need to get rid of my starlet first fingers crossed it will be sold in 2 weeks

The only 182 i would buy is a Trophy or 'cup packed' FF 182!

The 182 Cup is pointless over the 172 cup imo.

Still defeats the object of the 'CUP, diet excersise' imo!

Why not just get the FF with cup goodies!? You know that makes more sense! ;)

Because he's stripping it all out and using it as a track car? In which case the only reason to choose the 182Cup over 172Cup is if he wanted to have ABS and/or AC.

Why strip out an FF?

if i wasnt selling it i would say name a track time and place and i will show you

especially run rings around those inferno tats ;)

dude i had a 172cup for 2 years, the extra grip alone from the wider tyres would make the 182 quicker especially round a track. i do dislike the abs though.

Good point but still think the 'real' cup is the better option in this case.

Seeeeeeeee, Royston. ;)

I didn't suggest he should want ABS or AC. I said they are the only reason to consider the 182Cup over the 172Cup in this instance. Considering the OP was asking about both cars, I thought it was a valid point to make.

I'd have a ph1 172 over a cup. Nearly the same weight, but you keep ac and abs. And cable throttle, much better!

the 172cup is the one u need mate!

Bit of advice tho, buy one with all the stuff U want already done to it. Don't waste your money in doing it yourself.

PSJ.

you probably don't need do all that much to one to improve it for fastroad/track - engine mounts, exhaust (both of which are poor OE), front pads, lines/fluid. everything else should be ok, although can obv. be spent on

172 cup ftw. I'm not biased either. ;)

If you're gonna strip it out and what not you have to think is 2 grand extra for a 182 cup worth it just to have either ABS or AC? I don't think so.

More weight anyway. :rasp:
