clio 172 cup questions

hi people just few questions need answering wanna change battery on clio 172 as the trip keeps resetting itself had a look today apart from the pos and neg what is the black wire thats plugged into the side of it and where does it go never seen that before. also wen turning low speeds i get creaking noise mate thinks it track rod end any help???:S

i wasnt aware there was a black wire going to side of battery? you surely just disconnect terminals and get the bolt out from behind and slide it out? Thats what its like on mine, had it out last week aswell so fairly fresh in the memory

it's the drain hose. Nothing important.
