Clio 172 Cup seat options

  Clio 172 Cup
Have been offered a set of 197 cup seats for next to nothing have these ever been fitted in a 172 or would they just be ridiculously big in the cabin ?

Anyone know any decent seats which would compliment the interior without looking overkill ?

thanks as always

@0ss has some 197 Recaro seats in his and they look good.

I have also seen this 182 LY with some Recaro seats also.

I'll be selling some Recaro Evo 8 Seats (Blue), with Jon Foz lower mounts once everything has settled down a bit. They fit really well and give much better support.

I'm fitting some mk1 mx5 seats on the X-Low subframes as a temporary solution (possibly permanent if i like them), until i get a daily sorted, then i'll be getting bucket seats i think. I got the mx5 seats quite cheap and they should allow me to lower the seating position by at least 3 inches I reckon.

I can confirm these are some of the best seats for a road Clio as they adjust nicely and are so comfortable! Nice height with the Jon Foz subframes too. Much better and more supportive than the Trophy ones. Look great in a Cup too. I know this as the above set did used to me mine 😁

Do these not fold forward though due them being on a saloon previously?

I know you can wind them all the way forward and then slide forward but still a faff if you often have rear passengers.

The ones in oss's car look nice! I'm not into the Mitsi Evo ones in a Clio.

Agreed regarding the 197/200 Recaros. The Evo option is a fair bit cheaper and easy to fit with Jon Foz subframes.

The Recaros look awsome. Proper comfortable too.

The evo seats will most prob suit my budget better altho the others are really cool, if I can get the blue style ones will go well with the car

They are reletively supportive though considering.

The trendlines look the part but they aren't the most supportive in my opinion.
I have them in mine and they look loads better than std 182 seats but they used to hug the sides better

Yes won’t lie they are comfortable and supportive but just a bit bland in the cabin the standard ones, I will keep them as they are mint to sell with the car if I ever sell

They arnt that magenta in the flesh. I quite like cobra seats. Not as nice and well made as trend lines but alot cheaper and just as comfortable.
Think these were £300 for the pair woth sub frames. Id imagine they are similar price now days too.
The sportster recaros are lovely tho. 🤔
