When doing the Aux belt and Cambelt on the clio 172 cup is there any specail tools required ie have to buy from renault, reason i ask is im looking at a 53 plate 172 cup on 41,000 its due a service so was gonna get the aux belt and cambelt done all at once, i asked renault for a price and was £980, Are friend is a mechanic and very good and was gonna get him to do it, for half that price just need to see if there is any specail tools required.

Same as a 172. Every 12K with Aux belt every 36K and Cam belt (plus Aux belt) @ 72K or 5 years.

You need to get the cambelt kit and replace the pulleys also. Other guys who know more about it than me will be on soon enough.

cheers mate can someone give me a run down of parts i need please im gonna do a service and cambelt and aux, do i need water pump etc.

You need the correct locking tool for it.
(Fred on here always tells folk that, so I just echoed what he puts, he knows his stuff)

if the pulleys go on the 172 & cup the engine is gone, get it done by sum1 who knows wats goin on....
