Clio 172 exclusive Price guide?

  No.16 172 exclusive
Hey guys First post as im looking to join the club.

I am currently looking at getting an exclusive but finding it hard to find a guide price for them.

The car is priced at 2700.

The owner has owned it for 4 years has full service history, Receipts for everything. The car has covered just over 75k and had all belts changed last year.

Also comes with a couple of mods, Lowered and uprated suspension, exhaust and induction kit.

How much would you value this car at?

Is their anything i should especially look out on them when going to view the car,

Thanks in advance and hopefully its as described and priced accordingly.

Regards

Kenny

Theres no such thing as a price guide. Things like Glasses guide/CAP/Parkers etc are a waste of money.

If a book told you a N reg Astra was worth £4k would you buy it?

Best thing to do is look at ebay/PH/AT and see what others are being advertised for. My guess is £2500 is top retail money for an immaculate example.

Whats the difference between a normal 172 and the exclusive. All im really seeing is some leather seats and new wheels?

The colour (They only come in scarab green) The wheels (BBS) and the Grey Leather. There were only 172 of them made also (numbers inside the door sills)

I personally love the colour, most don't. (gays)

As Daniel says.. 2.5k would be top dollar with that sort of milage.

Exclusives have Scarab Green paint, unique 15" BBS alloy wheels, dune grey full leather with matching door cards, leather steering wheel, cd head unit as well as the standard multi changer under the drivers seat, light grey floor mats. All cars individually numbered up to 172 on the cill covers. There were more than 172 made, but only 172 brought into the UK.

Thanks for all the info so far guys will let you know how i get on. Going to see it tomorrow at somepoint.

Is there a big following for the exclusives eg, for when it comes to selling?

  V6 255, 172's, JCW,
Not overly popular.. most dislike the colour of the leather. The paint colour is lush..and compliments the wheels really well. Like most 172's though, would benefit from being lowered slightly. Then they look really planted.. spot on!

£2500 and you will not regret it if the car is well kept and clean espeacially if the belts have been done recently and there is REceipts!. If you can take someone with mechanical knowledge to give it a good going over at least you half know its not a heap of S@ite. There are garages up here selling the same car in good condition for £4400, I have got the receipt for mines when it was bought of a dealership for £4500 in sep 2009 and I bought mine for £2600 79000 miles in sep 2010. I have kept looking about at prices and reckon I did good, not seen many better deals local if any really. I see them cheaper on ebay time to time but they are at the other end of the country for a saving of about £300.

Some of these low priced cars are that price for a reason. Mechanical knowledge and a good in depth test drive are a must ie go in a car park on the test drive full lock left, full lock right listen for knocking. Give the engine a good shaking when under the bonnet to check the mounts, check the state of the oil on the dip stick, take the oil filler cap and look in there for white crap ( not good unless its a 1.2 dynamiqe ) get underneath ,Look at the discs and pads check there not worn to fek, go over the odd man hole  and listen for knocking, Give it a good bit of stick with the throttle and slam the brakes on lol, The owner might think you are a tool but by doing these basics you will know the car is reasonable nothing worse than buying a sh@tter the cost of the car soon doubles:cool:

I think this is the best piece of advice you could possibly find in a thread like this.

In 3 months of looking daily for 172s I only saw two cars which where anywhere remotely near the price & condition that parkers/autotrader/people-on-this-forum said should be available. Not saying people on here are wrong, it's just no good saying you get a "mint one for 3k" if A) there simply are no clios for under 3.5k in mint condition and B) if the value is based up north where cars are significantly cheaper and you're down south (or vica versa)

He did mention a guy from up north was going to come down and check it but managed to find one local.

The car is immaculate, i think its in better condition now than when it was in the showroom its unreal how well looked after its been.

Was abit unsure about buying a Renault cos im so used to Jap reliability and performance, but boy am i happy with the 172 that i have although its slightly slower than my Gen6 celica GT the pull that if gives you in low revs makes it enjoyable to drive.

Will get some pics tomorrow when im out and about. but heres the addy....

I bought no.22 2 weeks ago and I love this car. When I was buying it, I looked around just to compare prices, saw this one and thought it was proper mint so well done mate!!

Sounds a little gay but I really want customized mats like yours...I thought they looked wicked! Only thing Im not too keen on, is the original grey mats, yours just complete the interior! Amazing!

who did the cambelt change? Have a look in the receipts. If it isnt a reno specialist, that might be the reason its slow. Timing could be out
