Clio 172 Exclusive

Hi guys

I've been looking at these for quite some time, they are quite hard to find.
I found these:

What is your thought on them? Does anybody on here own one? How do the differ from "normal" 172's.
Also, from the pictures i can see that the seats are full leather jobbies, does anybody know if they still have the RenaultSport logo stitched in?

Also bigger pics will be appreciated.

not sure they have the RS logo but the differences are the seats, specific colour and diff
wheels as far as i remember.

You have full grey leather interior, scrab green (only found on exclusive), different steering wheel, and different wheels. thats it really. There was 172 made. Seats are plain leather without the logo

Middo, are you sure it only was 172? Could that just be for the UK market? I thought there was 500 made overall.

about 200 were ever made in left hand and right hand versions, how many are currently in the uk i dont know lol. All the 172s which arent silver that are in the uk were imported (as uk cars so not classed as an import), so a lot more left hand drive non silver cars than right, hence why they're so rare

Hi Dalla.. I used to have one of these from new.. no 22 of 172 brought into the UK, of some 'aprox' 340 built. All painted in Scarab Green, individually numbered on the door cills, ( UK models only). BBS alloys exclusively for this car with Renault logo centre caps. Dune grey full leather seats, no RenaultSport logo. Light grey floor mats, only in the Exclusive. CD head unit, over the standard cassette unit, as well as the standard cd multi changer. The leather steering wheel was the same as the standard one. Also, i'm possitive mine had xenon lights, as they had that 'blue' tint to them when they were on, and the bulbs looked the same as on my 182.. but i stand to be corrected on this..

I have one. had it 6 months and it has 35000 on the clock. I think it is the nads.

Whatever people who don't like them say, it still turns heads and leaves people standing at the lights who dont know what it is.

Nope no Zeons zeons were never an option on that phase at all.

To have zeons for a starter legally when made it would need to have had washer jets. You might have had an aftermaket HID kit but not officialy zeons.

Just to add, the uk ones seem to be Y reg, although when my mum & dad went to look at one (before he got his 52 reg flame red mk2) they looked at an 02 reg 172 exclusive, I guess it must have been late registered or something.

Since it was a last run of the phase 1 172 there was quite a few late registered ones dealers had. ALso it didn't help people new the "better" newer phase 2 with the phase 2 new looks was due out so didn't buy the run out model.

Ok, thanks Edde.. but how would you explain the blue hue..? It had no after market kit fitted to it, i had the car from new, and saw it before its pdi too.

Yep, your right Middo, mine had a smooth leather wheel. Forgot about the alcantera ones. It just wasn't in with the sales pitch on the Exclusive, as far as i remember.

The projector headlights look very xenon like at times due to the strongish white light, defo not xenons though. I'm planning to convert mine to xenon however ;)
