Clio 172 Induction Kit

Hi

I am considering a K&N Induction kit for my clio 172. Apart from adding another 0.5-1 bhp more (!) does it increase fuel economy, and if so by how much?

I am getting it mainly cos I need a new air filter and it sounds great and is great quality.

Thanks
Rob

standard airbox, pannel filter, remove top airfeed and acoustic valve.
cheap, nice sounding, good performance.

trust me, remove the top air feed in the side of the airbox. it sounds a lot better and deeper.

why would you want to remove an airfeed though, this is what i dont understand

because the airfeed pipework is restrictive due to the material, small diameter pipe and bends in the pipework. the opening in the airbox that the airfeed pipe goes into is much bigger in diameter than the feed pipe.

Got any ppics of how to do this?

infront of the battery the airfeed coming out of the airbox pull it out and tuck it to the side.

theres mixed reviews about doing this, yes you get better noise, heat soak isnt really a problem this is where the airfeed comes from on standard non rs clios if you look behind the grill there is a pannel diverting cool air to this area so i wouldnt worry about loss of performance from heat soak BUT some do notice a slight loss of low end torque, i personally dont notice it when removing the pipe but it feels better AFTER its refitted again, again can be the noise tricking you into thinking the car feels different

Ive just done this with a K&N Panle filter. WOW I think it goes alot better.

Im going to get some ducting put it in the hole in the box with a 90C bend and run it to the fron of the grille, Loads of room avalible.
