Clio 172 Insurance Help

Hi,

I am looking into buying a renault clio 172, 2002 worth about £5,500.

I'm 22 and been driving for 3 years. Ive had one non-fault accident in sept 2002 and one fault accident in august 2006. Therefore recently my no claims has gone down from 3 years to 1 year.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation and been able to get insurance, and who with please?

I know it varies by postcode and other factors but I'd just be interested to see other quotes as 2 companies ive tried have not been able to give me a quote because of the recent fault accident.

I've tried elephant and they quoted me £2000 with £750 excess and thats with the 10 month accelarator plan. Did you find you got a better quote online or by ringing them up?

think i best stick my parents on my policy!

i was always thinking when i get a 182 next year whether or not to put the rents on my policy as named drivers- does this really make any difference to price tho?

Yeah definately, i added my mum, and it went down about £500, and my dad took it down an extra £30, so £530 saving all together

thanks for all your advice.

I got a quote off directline for £1508 with £350 excess just for myself, going to ask parents if i can add them. Think thats best i can hope for really after accident.

Directline site was better than others because my crash was a partial blame accident 50/50 rather than total fault and that let me put it in.

Looks like im getting a 172 afterall!!!!!!!!!
