Clio 172 Made to look like 182

howie p said:
a superccar.. are they really that good?

Autocar got a standard 172 from 100-0 in 3.99 seconds, quicker than a 360 Modena, Diablo GT, Superlight R500 and 911 Turbo (and every single other car they tested)

The only concern with the original brakes would be fade during a hard track session, I can't imagine you would need to upgrade if you stuck to the roads.

I updated my brakes as the old ones where almost done + the new Ones don’t rust in the rain and Out that makes the car stop quicker in my eyes is worth.

Very impressed with that, and the silver on silver looks just as good as the anthracite..

Hi Kris - Yeah looks good.

Here's my 172 with the anthracite wheels on it.

Has also had the Hill Power group N chip. I have never driven a standard 172 so can't comment on the difference. The previous owner had the work done on the car, he said it made the car pull much more smoothly and has given a 10+bhp increase.

Anyone else had any experience of chipping? My mate has a 206gti (140) and after going in mine he keeps going on about getting his car chipped!

what did you have to do to it to make it lok like a 182 on the outside then :S
the exhaust & the wheels ??

I did the exhaust, wheels and got a carbon front splitter. The car looks nice with the grey wheels m8.

Am wonting to get my car Chipped, but live in Tyne & Wear but don’t know any good place to get it done at. If any one can point me in the Wright direction and give me a ruff estimate how much it might be that would be great.

I have thought of getting a new manifold for the car, which would give it an extra 10bhp but its £600 + there will be fitting on top of that.

Looking good! I have the same K-Tec uprated front discs! Not noticed a huge difference in performance, until you get them hot! Ragging around the country lanes with a few hard jabs on the brakes get's em hot! They feel soo much better when warmed up!

Looks loverly.. i think on that silver wheels look best on that.. grey wheels look better on darker cars.

Bigger brakes may look better, but do they actually slow you down any quicker? I'm sure the feel is different and they probably disperse heat better.

Even on a dry day, the Clio brakes have enough power to lock the wheels - Once friction has been overcome, any extra power is not needed surely? So if the Clios brakes can already lock the wheels, why is any more braking power needed? Just a thought.

Car looks nice!!

Try doing it 100 times in a row and see how the brakes feel;)

I think ill keep the wheels I have on the car now as all the input received has been positive towards the wheels I have.

Cheers guys
