Clio 172 Made to look like 182

Car  Clio 172 Mk2
Just wondering what you guys think of my 172. I have had some work done to it with the new K-Tec 182 look Exhaust system put on. Personally I think it looks nice am still wondering if I should have got the Gray wheels though. . Ive also but the K-Tec drilled brakes disks on and the car stops much better now. I have tried to make my car look nice and not tacky am thinking of getting it chipped in the summer, but am undecided yet

Please see the links below for pics of my car

Cheers Guys

I think the 182 wheels look much better but I don’t know which ones look better the Anthracite or the silver ones.

looks tidy.

i always prefered the 172 look to the 182 look.

your choice though mate, and it does look very nice.

In general i prefer the look of the anthracite wheels to the silver ones, but i think your car looks nice with the silver 182 wheels.

Kris have you had a 10bhp power increase since the 182 tailpipe conversion,or does it feel more responsive?

Cheers Fletcher.

Your car looks good, espec the exhaust. I have thought about doing the same but the price on the exhuast is a little high. Dont like 182 wheels to be honest, but if you want that look go for it, but in anthracite.

tbh u cant tell its 172 until u c the reg number. otherwise id believe it is a 182 ..............look very tidy , am luvving the brembo brakes as well

should have gone with anthracite.

fred can powdercoat them the same renault anth........................do it!

Looks the part, just get a private plate which would never have been on the car (ie the old letter prefixed) then it would look more like a 182 with private plate than 172 made to look like a 182. Although it is a smashing job.

Looking good! :D Don't forget the headlights, seat covers and seatbelts if your going for the complete look-a-like.

Suprised the car stops any better to be honest, standard 172/182 brakes would worry a supercar in a 100-0 contest. Are they K-Tec discs with Brembo calipers?!

a superccar.. are they really that good?

have you got brembo all round??

Bigger brakes may look better, but do they actually slow you down any quicker? I'm sure the feel is different and they probably disperse heat better.

Even on a dry day, the Clio brakes have enough power to lock the wheels - Once friction has been overcome, any extra power is not needed surely? So if the Clios brakes can already lock the wheels, why is any more braking power needed? Just a thought.

Car looks nice!!

Looks great that 172 matey.

Personally I'd leave the lights well alone though rather than as suggested above. Imo, 172 lights look better than the 182 lights with their grey masky bits inside.

Rather than make it an exact 182 replica, you've got a best of both worlds car. 172 silver looks far better than 182 silver.

is it much work to fit the exhaust on as i presume you have to line it up and cut out bits of the bumper? do k-tec fit it?

The car still has the wheel well. The system has been designed to get around it. Its not LOUD its just Wright I think.

Ive just paid off my 172 and am happy now not owing anyone any money + The 182 silver is Rotten.

The tint is road legal but any darker and they would not be.

The bumper I have on the car now is a proper 182 bumper thought a proper one would looked better than having the original one cut out.

I think the current wheel colour suits the car nicer than what anthracite would. I have a mk2 172 myself and I think your 182 wheels definately look nicer. Good job.
