Clio 172 or 172 Cup???

Hey,

Bought a clio 172 in flame red (52plate) last christmas yet on the V5 is says its a 172 cup? On the V5 its variant number under where it says model/type is CB1N and the Version is CB1N0F.
It has leather seats and climate control which I know the cup doesnt have, also I thought the cups only came in Blue.
Only mention this because the cam belt went 3 days ago so im waiting to hear if I need a new Engine!!!!! when Renault put the Regestration number into there system it didnt work so he had to use the Vin number. There saying it could be an import??

Any help would be appriciated please:S

Yeah its a normal 172 you've got, and if its wrong on the v5 then its more that likely a import.

Alot of imported 172's just say "Clio" next to model on the V5- rather than "Clio Renaultsport 172".

knew it wasn't a cup just wondered why it was down as one.

Just gotta wait now untill renault get back to me with a price for the cam belt - If its not damaged anything elts when it snapped!!!!

Fingers Crossed as im driving round in the girlfriends fiesta 1.3!!
 
You can tell if its an import as the alarm either won't be fitted or a different one will be fitted.
Also windows won't be etched.

CB1N is the code for the full fat and ups unfortunatly easy way to tell is if you have ABS.

Me clios definatly a normal one not a cup, as it has abs - doesnt have traction control though ive heard thats not much cop any way.
Me clios done 64k miles so I sugest that Fletch gets his cam belt changed. When it went I lost all power, the stearing went and the brakes went. Good old AA towed me home AGAIN!!! (rear wheel bearing went 2 months ago!!) Renaults ringing me tomm with the damage (cant wait!!!)

Also the alarms a signum aftermarket one with a keypad on the windscreen - anyone heard of these as it was already on when I bought the car.

Its your AUX belt which broken sounds like it took out your cambelt as they often do.
AUX belt is chnaged ever 36k but some garages don't know that the service intervals were chnaged from 72k to 36k so you might be on the original one.

yeah my v5 was up the creek. Had it down a clio grey saloon, posted the v5 back to them with a letter.
Now its 3 dr hatch, silver. Only thing being the noobs put it down as a cup.

If the clio is an import will it change me insurance? You know what there like, any excuse not to pay out!!

Just to let every one know renault are sorting my car out after the cam belt went and its costing me £1350!!!!!
If your wondering weather or not to get your cam belt changed near the 72k mark then do it, mine went at 64K and its cost me!!!
