Clio 172 ph1
Hi, so I want to start a build thread for my PH1 172, just for the fun of it, to keep track of work and to get some feedback and suggestions
Clio is a great car and I'm really happy with it.
I am from Croatia, and I bought the PH1 3 years ago. The car was in running condition, but didn't have licence plates . After towing it home it sat still for half a year. Then I registered it for the road and realized I had to change the cambelt and aux belt. After that came the shocks and the exhaust which were both dead. I went for B14 because the car is also used on the road.
After a first few track sesions, like everyone, I realized the seats are s**t, and so is the driving position, and the steering wheel, so that was taken care of:
Then the gearbox was busted, 3rd and 4th gear syncros were dead. Took it off and a local specialist did a great job of fixing it.
The car was on several trackdays as seen on the pictures. There is quite a bit of body roll when fitted with semislick tires like the r888r, but still the car handles great.
Front tires after use , maybe I was overdriving the car a bit.
I don't have too many pictures of building, but will post as things go on. Next steps are LSD, co-driver race seat and harness and a rear bar for fixing 6 point belts.
Any comments and suggestions are welcome !
