Clio 172 PH1 VIN Numbers

Hey there, new to the forum, I've got an interesting thread going on over here

Anyhoo, I'm trying to find out if the Frankensteins monster of a Clio is a real Renaultsport 172. It has the engine, I know that much, but if you check the thread you'll see that the rest of the car is unrecognisable. Im guessing the only way of checking is the VIN. (Cheers to Griff for suggesting this BTW)

The VIN on my car starts vf1cb0m0f

Does anyone with a PH1 172 have the same digit at the start of their VIN.

Could you not just put the reg into an insurance website?

When I put mine in the model comes up as a Renaultsport 172 16v

The reg is X184NGP

Griff has done some checks and I HPI'd it before I bought it. The Model on the V5 says "Clio Sport"

its definitely an RS clio with that VIN

the CB0M in your chassis makes it an RS clio, the later 172's were CB1N and the 182 was CB22
