Make sure it has a full religious serivce history, also make sure that when you go and view it that the car is cold (a car can hide faults if its been warmed up prior to you going to see it) So ask specifically that you get to see it warm up.
Turn the wheel lock to lock, there should be no grinding, bumping or knocking from the top mounts. (this is normally caused by water gathering in the top mounts,i.e the top of the suspension turrets)
Make sure there are no lights illuminated on the dash, mis-firing is a common problem with the Renault Sports and is normally caused my a failed coil pack or injectors or even faulty spark plugs or HT Leads. Other than this just check for general wear and tear, if serived properly, it will last you long.
Also, if you can, try and get a paint depth reader, this could tell you of any crash damage the car has had across its lifetime (if i remember right they should read 145-148, consistently across the body work)
SOmetimes a HPi check will only tell you if it is catogorey registered.
