Clio 182 clutch cable rubber bush problem (3 cables in 1 month)

  Renault Clio 182
Hello,

I own a 2004 Clio 182 and a while ago my problems started with the clutch, cable and pedal. I'll put the story in order:
- first of all my old cable started working a bit ruff so i changed it;
- after a while the clutch started working hard until 2 months ago the cable got out the pedal and couldn't be put back;
- i bought a new pedal, a new cable and changed those;
- after just 1 week the cable had the same problem with the rubber bush and i decided to also change the clutch.

Now i have new pedal, a new cable and a new SACHS clutch. Everything is working fine, i'm happy with the clutch feeling but as you can see in the pics, the rubber bush from the cable decided o snap again. I have to mention that the clutch isn't too hard, it's normal for a Clio.

Please help me with a advice. I don't know what to do :(

That looks like it's pulling at a funny angle. Do you perhaps need to realign the black plate to line up with the entry angle and fork better?

Thank you very much. I think you are right and i'll try to align the cable and also to buy a genuine cable instead of the Sachs one. I'll be back with the result :)

Hi,
I know it was a while back but can you remember if realignment of the bracket worked?
My reasonably new clutch cable has just snapped at the pedal and by the reading of your post that might be the root cause I will check that when fitting a new cable.
Cheers
