Clio 182 Gear insert?!

Hi Guys,

Just bought a 182 as my second car!?! Just trying to tidy it up as im used to having a newer car!

The radio was locked so i went into Harrats Renault Wakey for the code, which i sorted for a ten spot!

I needed a insert for the gear stick as its worn and would benifit from a new one, the parts guy said you can only buy a complete replacement?! £47.95!!!

So I left it

New ones are like hen's teeth. You tend to find lots of worn ones either for sale on here or ebay.

You could always spray yours and then put a new decal on. It makes the world of difference!!

Yeh. I just sprayed primer over the bottom, then the colour. Place the decal on carefully, then a load of laquer over the top.

I sprayed my dash inserts and the steering wheel trim as well.

There Inferno in colour, but look red / pink in pictures!

New ones from Renault? When I asked West before, they said its exactly the same as the old one, you just have to buy the complete head!

I know the MK3's come with engraved one but they have a 6th gear and are a different shape.

He may have put the whole head of the gear stick in his like.

Does he have a thread?

My 04 1.2 had an engraved insert. Was easy to spray as Numbers stayed visible. Think the engraved ones are from the expression Clios.

reigniting an old thread. My expression DCI has an engraved insert. I'm trying to find a way to spray it and have the engraving a different colour to the top.
