Clio 182 Injectors

Im almost 95% sure that i have a problem with the injectors for the fact that i keep getting a Bank one lambda probe fault and i have changed the front lambda twice with new bosch units and the back lambda once.
I have refitted the CAT to manifold joint with a new renault kit and a new renault clamp to stop any air leaks.
When starting the car there is a smell of fuel from the back and my exhaust tips are always black with soot.

I will be changing the Spark plugs in the next few weeks to check these as well as put a new set in so below is a few questions i have regarding injectors as im thinking these might be worth changing also.
If anyone else can throw any light on this with suggestions that would be very helpful.

1, Im wondering how easy and quickly changing all 4 can be done and if there is anything that can be a pain in the ar$e.

2, Best place to buy new injectors from and also who is the cheapest ?

3, Is it worth upgrading the injectors and if so would i get any benefits from doing this ?

Thanks

I just had my injectors tested and ultrasonically cleaned on my cup and it drives 10x times better and the light load miss fire is gone. Get them tested first to see if that is your problem. It cost me £80 for all 4 to be done.

They take 10 minutes to replace, nothing special, 2 nuts (fuel rail guard) 3 bolts (fuel rail) and rub some grease on the o-rings when refitting.

Who done them for you mate ?

was it someone in scotland ?

Any electrical or injection specialist would be able to help.

I had mine done at Taylor's electrical Aberdeen but they couldn't test them due to not having the correct adaptor. Still made a world of difference with cleaning but its nice to have a before and after test.

Google Bosch automotive agents in your area (which the above are)

Spoke to the guy today at GFM and he knows exactly what he is talking about and was very very helpful on the phone.

He charges £16 per injector and thats Testing them, Ultra sonic cleaning of them and then testing them again with a full report.

They did mine and they sent me a before and after test chart, really impressed. sent mine in the post and they were cleaned and sent back with me 3 days later. They replace the O rings on the injectors too.

It can be a pain to get the fuel rail+ injectors back on, I didnt use any grease and that may be why. I did have a problem with the fuel rail petrol pipe, the rubber O ring for this had perished or got caught when i was putting the petrol pipe back into the fuel rail. I ended up buying a connector kit from Ktec for 10 pounds or less. They send you 2 connectors and i only needed one - so pm me if you need one.

I had exactly the same issue as you though, rough handling , black tips etc. I replaced the spark plugs and had the injectors cleaned and it transformed the car and is now silky smooth.

I swear you just look for faults every week LOL

My next task is to get my car down to you once funds have been saved so be ready for a asda bag of money and some instructions.
I would have loved to have it done within the next couple of months but a £2K holiday and new bathroom has had to come before the Trophy.

Whilst ignoring the worst dephaser I've ever heard.

The Dephaser is louder than a John Deere tractor, Its totally horrendous but no point in doing this as its not something i can do myself and i would rather someone who knows Renaultsports inside out do the job correctly.

I just dont get why you've spent so much money on other things instead of fixing it?

Cause i can . . . . . . . . . .

The Dephaser is not stopping the car drive / run.
Things have happened this year which are now paid off so im saving to get the car down south to get it all sorted with other parts done also

Surely your dephaser being shagged, chucking the timing in and out, would cause running/fuelling problems??

After all the reading i have done on the dephaser i never knew this could happen or cause the timing to be out.

Yup. Mitch1503's was so bad it was triggering the knock sensor to r****d the ignition timing and it was about 15-20bhp down.
if the dephasr is knocking, that means it's not locked, so the cam timing is constantly floating about and changing randomly

Thank you for confirming this, The amount of posts i have read saying that people have driven for 10K miles and no damage has been done and that its fine has been a lot. I never knew that the dephaser can cause this. Its now moved up alot higher on my list of "GET IT DONE NOW" things.
