Clio 182 steering wheel trying to find a refurb service

Hi,

First post on here so hellloooo to everyone !

Ok we have just taken in a clio 182 with the usual melting wheel and rubber inserts gone bad...

Does anyone know off or does anyone of the forum offer a refurb service?

If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

No worries...known issue and why Renault never sorted it is beyond me. I've seen one of the refurbished wheels on Matt W's 172Cup...and I was VERY impressed. My 182 wheel is fine, the rubber grips are still in tact, so don't want to do it yet...but when its needed, I know where I'll be going to get one.

Yeah it is shocking the renault never sorted it out or recalled cars,

More or less every single one we come across now in the trade has suffered with the very same problem, must be a problem with the actual type of rubber they used.

Think I was lucky with mine...55K and very little wear on the steering wheel (or interior in general). I wouldn't mind, but its not like in the UK we have serious heat issues...South of Spain, etc...fair enough!

The rubber is shocking, and also the leather seems to deteriorate over time too.

I was considering bidding on a 197 wheel ending on ebay tommorow although that idea is now out the window with a few ppl saying they do the same after a few years !!

Think I may have to go with the refurb root,

Any idea on what the turnaround time is with arran_182?

I think it depends on what stock he has, which looking recently, may be low as a lot of people are not returning their wheels. When he did mine he had one in stock. From requesting it (choosing stitching colours and a centre band put in) to it turning up was about a week.
