Clio 182 Steering

Got my new 182 last week after a 12 week wait, has been pulling slightly to the right. Took it to the dealer only to be told that they found no fault!!

The service manager said that the coating on the tyres was probably to blame. Give it till 1000 miles and come back then!!What a discrace, I also got the service light, ABS and traction control light coming on.

Again they found nothing.

I tried leaving the garage and the lights came on!!

Gave it back to them, they linked up their computer and found, and also did nothing..

Any one else been treated this way. I want to take this further, the incompetence of the Dealers mechanics is unbelievable.

Unlucky mate, sounds like you may have found some eejits. Are there no other Renault dealers close-ish you can take it to?

Welcome to the world of owning a Renault and having to deal with the monkeys they employ in the service centres (couple of exceptions, Jay & Mike) typical responses are "thats normal they all do that" & "we couldnt fault it" they seam to be going through a faze of not repairing anything under warranty.

take it to an independant centre that does laser alignment and geometry checks get it sorted and when they find something is wrong take a copy of the bill and print out to renault and tell them to pay up or you are going to customer services.

Spot on - even take it to one of the quick-fit places if theres one close

Thanks for all of your quick replys. The branch is Ness Motors up here in Inverness. Just waiting for them to call back for me to pick it up. I will take it to an independent garage and get them to look at it.

I owned a new 172 for two years before this which was a great car, no problems at all! And for them to fob me off with " its the coating on the tyres " is a joke.

Will let you all know what is going on!!

At last!Got my car back this afternoon after 4 days. Service light fault was due to the brake switch needing set up correctly. The tracking, although straight was pointing to the right?

Never mind, the service department have all eaten a huge slice of humble pie, to say sorry the gave me a full tank of fuel and will do my first service for free.

Time to enjoy the car now.....
